Shop tang hydraulic cylinders for agricultural, construction, transportation, material-handling and other mobile hydraulic applications. These welded, double-acting cylinders use a narrow mounting configuration that works well where a clevis or wider mounting end may not fit.
Available bore sizes include 1.5", 2", 2.5" and 3", with multiple stroke lengths from 6" through 30" depending on bore size.
Tang Hydraulic Cylinder Sizes
The current Magister WTG tang cylinder range includes:
- 1.5" bore — 1" rod, 0.75" pin and SAE 6 ports
- 2" bore — 1.25" rod, 1" pin and SAE 6 ports
- 2.5" bore — 1.5" rod, 1" pin and SAE 8 ports
- 3" bore — 1.5" rod, 1" pin and SAE 8 ports
All cylinders in this collection use welded construction, hard-chrome-plated rods and double-acting operation with a maximum operating pressure of 3,500 PSI.
Available Tang Cylinder Stroke Lengths
Stroke availability varies by bore size. The 1.5" bore family is available from 6" through 24", while the 2" and 2.5" families extend through 30". The 3" bore family is available in 8", 10", 12", 14", 16", 18", 20", 24" and 30" strokes.
Select the bore family first, then choose the required stroke from the available product options.
Where Tang Hydraulic Cylinders Are Used
Tang cylinders use a relatively narrow mounting end that can fit into compact frames and linkages where a wider clevis or cross-tube configuration may not be appropriate. They are commonly used on agricultural equipment, construction machinery, transportation equipment, material-handling systems, waste and recycling equipment and custom hydraulic machinery.
Choosing the Correct Tang Hydraulic Cylinder
Start by matching the bore and stroke required by the application. Then verify the rod diameter, mounting-pin diameter, mounting-end width, hydraulic port size, retracted length and extended length.
Do not assume cylinders with the same bore and stroke are interchangeable. Mounting geometry, port configuration and overall dimensions must also match the equipment.
Longer-stroke cylinders can also have lower allowable column loads than shorter cylinders in the same bore family, so the operating load and cylinder orientation should be considered when selecting a replacement.
