The 5-inch bore cross tube cylinders are intended for equipment where hydraulic force is the priority. These large-bore BMF Hydraulics cylinders are available in selected medium-to-long strokes and use welded cross-tube mounts for pin-connected mobile and industrial mechanisms.

Cross Tube Cylinder Construction

• Action: Double acting
• Mounting: Welded cross-tube end mounts
• Operating Pressure: Up to 3,500 PSI
• Tube: High-tensile honed cold-drawn steel
• Rod: Ground and polished hard-chrome-plated steel
• Sealing: Five-component compact sealing system with polyurethane rod seal and wiper

At a given operating pressure, the 5-inch piston area produces considerably more extension force than the smaller-bore families. That makes this series relevant to heavy attachments, lifting mechanisms, material-handling equipment and custom machines with demanding load requirements.

Higher force also increases the importance of proper machine design. Confirm the system pressure, required force, mounting-pin capacity, rod loading, cylinder alignment and dimensional fit before replacing or specifying a 5-inch bore cylinder.
