The 6-inch bore series is the largest cross tube cylinder group in this catalog and is intended for high-force hydraulic applications. BMF Hydraulics pairs the large piston area with 24-, 28-, 30- and 36-inch stroke choices for equipment that needs significant linear force and long working travel.

Cross Tube Cylinder Construction

• Mounting: Welded cross-tube end mounts
• Operating Pressure: Up to 3,500 PSI
• Tube: High-tensile honed cold-drawn steel
• Rod: Ground and polished hard-chrome-plated steel
• Sealing: Five-component compact sealing system with polyurethane rod seal and wiper

These cylinders are better suited to substantial mobile machinery, heavy material-handling mechanisms and engineered hydraulic equipment than to compact attachment work. Cross-tube mounts allow the cylinder to pivot at the connection points as the machine linkage changes angle.

Choosing the Correct Cylinder

A 6-inch bore cylinder can generate very high force, so the surrounding structure, pins, hoses and hydraulic circuit must be appropriate for the load. Verify system pressure and all mounting and dimensional specifications before treating it as a replacement for another cylinder.
